Hello! My name is Cassandra (Cass) Lynch I am a Melbourne based artist and interior designer.

When I was 16, I became very unwell and was in and out of hospital over a few months. I had involuntary movements of my arms and legs and I could barely walk or talk. It took doctors months to work out what was going on in my body.

I had a beautiful art therapist in hospital who got me painting and creating self portraits and I started using paint to express myself and how I feeling rather than talking about it. I believe that experience has shaped my style of painting and why I am so drawn to abstract art.

There is always a deeper feeling underneath what we see on the surface. With my abstract paintings, I express my inner world in the moment. I don’t judge the colours I use or the brushstrokes I make. I mostly start a painting with no plan. It is so freeing and incredibly beautiful to create something from nothing and to not judge anything in the present moment.
